Frederick Donald Fleischer

Frederick "Fred" Fleischer, age 89, of Andover, Minnesota died September 20, 2025. 

A Celebration of Life will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on October 10, 2025, at Grace Lutheran Church in Andover, MN.  The family will hold a private interment at a later date.

Fred is survived by children Ann Fleischer of Mounds View, Barb Fleischer of Andover, Jim (Dorrie) Fleischer of Mounds View and Jon (Joanie) Fleischer of Blaine; and by grandchildren Catie, Rachel, JJ, and Cari Fleischer. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Beverly "Bev" Fleischer; daughter Carolyn; and sisters Helen Semisch and Margaret Fleischer. 

Frederick Donald Fleischer was born on June 19, 1936, in Wheaton, MN to Frederick and Leona (Schmidt) Fleischer. He was a 1955 graduate of Wheaton High School. After high school, he was drafted and inducted into the United States Navy on March 21, 1956, and served as Engineman on the USS Gregory DD802 until he was honorably discharged on November 7, 1957. When Fred returned home, he moved to the Twin Cities where he met Beverly "Bev" Gosswiller.  They were later married on May 27, 1961, at Knox Presbyterian church in Minneapolis. The couple was blessed with five children whom together they raised in Minneapolis, Anoka, and eventually in Andover. After marriage Fred worked at Thermo King and then for Mounds View Public School District until his retirement.  Fred enjoyed family vacations, deer hunting, camping, and fishing. What he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. Although Fred's passing was sudden and unexpected, memories of him will continue.
