Genevieve Kay Chase

Genevieve “Genny” Kay Chase, 64, of Bena, Minnesota met her Lord and Savior on June 22nd, 2026, from the St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN.  She was born the daughter of Sandra (Leith) and Harry Chase, Sr., in Cass Lake, MN on Wednesday, November 7th, 1962.

Genny loved being outdoors, enjoying time with family, especially her grandbabies.  Riding her side by side, kayaking rides, going on nature walks and rummage saleing were some of her favorite things to do.  She had a great love for her faith and had a strong relationship with her God.  Genny loved going to church and bringing family members with her.  As the matriarch of our family, she always put other people’s needs above her own.  Genny cared about everyone; she would sit and pray with you or just talk to you if you needed it.  Always so forgiving and full of love.  She worked many different jobs in her life, but working with people is what she loved to do the most.

Family that Genevieve is reunited with are her parents, Harry and Bing Chase; sister, Geraldine “Puffer" Chase; daughter, Angela White; granddaughter, Jeniyah White; and several other relatives.

Those left behind to cherish her beautiful memory are her daughters, Cassie Chase, Jamie Chase, Ashley (Jason) Gale, and Leah White; sons, Gerald Northbird and Michael White; brothers, Harry (Jerri Lynn) Chase, Jr. and Joseph "Weasel" (Karen) Chase, Sr.; 15 grandbabies; great grandson, Louis St. John; son in-laws, Justin Seelye and Glen Anderson, favorite uncle, Walter; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.

The visitation for Genny will be held from 8:00-10:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 28th, 2026, with the funeral service starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Bena Alliance Church in Bena, MN.  Helping to lay Genevieve to rest are Harry Chase, Jr., Ricky O’Brien, Joseph “Weasel” Chase, Sr., David Chase, Sr., Justin Seeyle, Sr., and Jesse Seeyle.  The alternate pallbearers are Dylan and Dustin Chase.  Her honorary pallbearers are Gerald Northbird, Michael White, Cassie Chase, Jamie Chase, Leah White, and Ashley Gale.  Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Bena, MN immediately following her funeral services.
