Gordon "Gordy" Kenneth Lalone, Jr.

Gordon “Gordy” Kenneth Lalone, Jr., beloved son, brother, father, uncle, and cousin, age 81, joined his beloved mother, father, and sister in Heaven on May 27th, 2025. He was born on June 26, 1943, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Margit (Opsahl) and Gordon Sr.

Gordy was a unique person who marched to the beat of his own drum, and he did things in his own time and his own way and lived his life as he wanted. Gordy loved his “Palace” in the woods and enjoyed rummage sales, garage sales, flea markets, and had a passion for fishing… Gordy grew up in NE Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota for a short time. 

Remarkably, Gordy’s mental strength and resilience only deepened as his body failed him, and his mobility and agility deteriorated. We are truly grateful for his good friends and caregivers who cared for him during this time: Lyle Edelman and Doug Aird, who tirelessly and lovingly helped Gordy navigate his health challenges for the last years. 

Gordy is preceded in death by his parents, Margit and Gordon LaLone, Sr.; and sister, Kristin LaLone.

Gordy is survived by sisters, Jeanine Seymore and Randi Barbour; brother, Rolf LaLone; sons, Todd Holmes and Clayton Holmes; daughters, Lisa Holmes and Debra (David) Jones; grandchildren, Jessica Holmes, Josh Jones, and Jenna Jones. Gordy will be remembered for his mental strength, resilience, and a quick mind.
