James William King, Jr.

James William King, Jr., age 36, of Red Lake, MN passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Fargo, ND.  He was born on August 17, 1989, in Bemidji, MN the son of James, Sr. and Becky (Jourdain) King.

James graduated from Red Lake High School in 2007 and went on to attend college in Bemidji at the U of M and most recently Minnesota North EDU M230 at the Virginia campus.  He was incredibly intelligent, funny and had a gift for making friends wherever he went over the years.  James worked many interesting jobs that took him to different places, but his most cherished obligation was being an uncle to his nieces and nephews.  He was the best uncle a kid could have.  James was employed at the Rewind Program in Perham, MN where he was the house manager of the sober house where he lived.  He helped many people in his time there and will be missed by the entire Rewind Program.

Loved ones that he joins again are his little sister Janelle who he missed dearly.  Maternal grandparents Dorothy and Mark Jourdain, paternal grandparents Marilyn “Girlie” and Paul “Leo” King, numerous aunts and uncles. 

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his parents Jim and Becky, siblings Maelyn (Jennette), Joseph, Michael (Brianna), Michelle and Joshua (Chasity), his nieces Kacy, Kalise, Natalie, Naveah, Ivy and his name’s sake Jayde. Nephews Rishawn, Major, Bellamy, Michael, Brady, Brody and great nephew Raiden. His favorite special aunt Bonnie and special cousin Jennifer.

A private family service will be held for James. Honorary pallbearers will be his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and childhood cousins. Father Tom Niehaus will officiate.
