Jennie Lynn (Roberts) Pasillas

Jennie Lynn Pasillas, 61 years old, was born August 26, 1961, in Whittier, California.  She entered the spirit world at home in Mankato, Minnesota on Saturday January 21st, 2023, surrounded by family.  

Jennie was born to Pearl (Bellanger) and Floyd Roberts, Sr. In her early years she lived and grew up in the Minneapolis, MN.  She had two boys Joseph and Kenneth Roberts.  She met Angel Pasillas in 1985, together they have four daughters Jenay, Selena, Rena, and Arlana Pasillas. They married in 1995 and made their home in Minneapolis.  After the passing of her niece Nina Roberts in 2015 they took on the role of raising her children Devin and Derek Bigbear-Huapapi and Eileen Butcher.

Jennie enjoyed going to the casinos and liked playing bingo and keno.  She looked forward to summers to spend family time going fishing with her grandchildren and husband. Summertime was the best time, she loved going to Pow Wow’s to enjoy her grandchildren dancing and hanging out with family.  Jennie took on the mother role to her nieces, had many memories to share with them about their mothers.  Jennie’s heart is big and full of love to give to her family and take on many roles to keep everything going.  She shared more memories and stories, and we will cherish all of them.   

Welcoming her into the Spirit world are her mother and father, Pearl and Floyd Roberts, Sr.; sisters, Marilyn, Roxanne, and Roslynn Roberts; brothers, Benjamin, Jeffery, and Michael Roberts; niece; Nina Roberts; close cousin, Gerald “Jerry” Roberts; nephews, Dennis (Muckwa) Roberts, Allen Marlowe, Jr., and John Roberts Sr. 

She is survived by her husband, Angel Pasillas; brother, Floyd Roberts, Jr.; sons; Joseph Sr. and Kenneth Roberts; daughters, Jenay, Selena, Rena and Arlana Pasillas; grandchildren, Catera, Clarice, Christianna, Shalene, Keena, Devin, Derek, Eileen, Rayma, Damya’Rose, Joseph Jr., Carlos, Cruz, Kiera, and Trent Jr., and many nieces and nephews.

An overnight wake for Jennie will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 1st and continue until her 11:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, February 2nd all to be held at The Church of Gichitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis, MN.  Community Minister Shawn Phillips will officiate.  Pallbearers for Jennie will be Angel Pasillas, Floyd Roberts, Joseph Roberts, Derek Bigbear-Haupapi, Kenneth Roberts, Dennis Roberts, Carlos Robles, and Corey Jones.  Her honorary pallbearers are Nicole Roberts, Reggina Roberts, Chiana Roberts, Jennie Marlowe, Chisa Roberts, Julie Redeagle, Chiena Roberts, and Kari Jones.  Inurnment will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN in the spring.
