Jimmie Derek Harrison, Sr

Jimmie Derek Harrison, age 55, of Cass Lake, MN, passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, in Cass Lake with his family by his side.  He was born November 15, 1965, in San Diego, CA the son of Donnie and Ruby (Losh) Harrison. 

Jimmie lived in the cities for most of the 70’s before making Cass Lake his home in 1979.  He was an Archaeologist for many years before taking up the craft of Jewelry making with his mom.  Over the years he made numerous jewelry pieces that he shared with family and friends.  He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and was a wonderful care giver to them.  Jimmie also loved to donate tons of money to the casino.

The family that Jimmie joins again are his parents; Donnie and Ruby, an infant child, Derek, sister; Dawn Wind, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his daughters; Jamie (Rodo) Tapia Morrow, Sarah (Derrick) Harrison, Lydia (Marcus) Sargent, Ruby Harrison, Rikki Harrison, Halle (William) Harrison and Nelly Harrison, sons; Jim “Big Jim” (Kelsey) Harrison, Jr., Jim “Little Jim” (Toni Sue) Harrison, Jr., Richard Warner and Timmie O’Connor, brother; Donnie (Tina) Harrison, sister; Tonya (Terry O’Connor) Losh, step-father; Mike Ware, and numerous grandchildren. 

A two-night wake for Jimmie will begin at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2021, and continue until the 11:00 a.m. service Tuesday, August 3, 2021 all held at the Prescott Community Center in Cass Lake.  Pallbearers for Jimmie will be Billy Joe Headbird, Alvin Wind III, Kenneth Copenace, Ken Hough, Jr., Daniel Wind and Sage Seeleye.  Alternate pallbearers will be Russell Wind, Donnie Harrison, Jr., Rodo Tapia, Thomas Harrison, and Charles Harrison.  Interment will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake following the service.
