Joanne Lee Mitchell (Everett) (1957-2026)

Joanne Mitchell (née Everett), 68, of Walker, MN, passed away quietly at her home on February 18, 2026.

She was born in Minneapolis in 1957 to David and Clara Everett (née Grant) and grew up in Coon Rapids with her five siblings. Joanne attended Coon Rapids High School; her working career in finance led to many years of public service.

Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Lloyd, and brother Gary, and is survived by siblings David, Debra, Larry, and John, many nieces and nephews, and countless beloved friends who became family.

Joanne and Lloyd’s years in Walker included endless time outdoors golfing, hunting, fishing, and laughing around fire. Joanne cherished time outdoors, watching for loons and looking for ladyslippers, and picking blueberries to share. She tirelessly tended to her yard and had a contentious relationship with the deer who ate her plants.

Joanne always had a soft spot for the animals in her life. Her dog Kita was the family nanny, helping wrangle nieces and nephews at her home in Champlin. She went on to thoroughly spoil all the dogs around, always having a treat ready.

Joanne will always be remembered for her laugh and giant smile. She always had a listening ear, advice to share, and support for everyone who needed it. Her ability to win every raffle she ever entered will remain a mystery for the ages. Those who knew her will carry on so many stories of their time spent together.
