Joanne Karen (Raisch) Ortley

Joanne Karen (Raisch) Ortley, age 71, of Cass Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, June 15th, 2021 from the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.                             

Joanne was born on Saturday, April 1st, 1950, in Minneapolis, MN to Dolores (Fairbanks) and Joseph Raisch.  She grew up on Nicollet Island with her siblings before moving to Cass Lake.  Joanne loved to visit with her family but especially loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.  She enjoyed doing puzzles, pokeno, sequence, bingo and family game nights.  Joanne loved listening to Elvis Presley, going to concerts with her sister Linda, watching Gunsmoke and Dr. Quinn and rummaging, but her favorite place to shop was Facebook Marketplace. 

Family that welcomes Joanne to the spirit world are her husband; Frank Ortley, Sr., her parents; Joseph and Dolores, grandbaby; Baby Ortley Gutierrez, brothers; Joseph “Sonny”, Donald “Booty”, Maynard and Sheldon Raisch, niece; Karen Townsend, nephews; Brian “Guy” Wilson and Samuel “Fella” Ortley, sister-in-law; Sylvia Mary Ortley and her children’s father; Clifford “Kippy” Wilson.

She leaves behind her children; Teresa Ortley of Cass Lake, Anne Ortley of Bemidji, Michelle Gutierrez of Cass Lake and Joel Ortley of Cass Lake, 15 grandbabies, 19 great grandbabies (and one on the way), sister; Linda Wilson, special granddaughters; Abrianna Ortley and Amerie Goggleye, sisters-in-law; Roberta Ortley, Lois “Girlie” White and Veda “Hogino” Harrison, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A wake for Joanne will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 19th and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Monday, June 21st all to be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN.  Allen Hardy and Roger Durant will be her Spiritual Advisors.  Pallbearers for Joanne will be Vicente Cerda-Romo, Curtis Ortley, Jonathan Weyaus, Darian Weyaus, Jared Allen, Jorrel Allen, Marshall Villebrun, Donovan Villebrun, James Brown and Matthew Villebrun.  Her honorary pallbearers are Abrianna Ortley, Amerie Goggleye, Lisa Ortley, Melissa Wilson, Gabriel Ortley, Jeanelle Ortley, Rebecca Littlewolf, LaRissa Hulett, Ashley Cooper, Kenny Wittner and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN following her Monday services.
