John “Johnny” Burns Ross, Jr., age 44, Indian name “Moon Dog”, of Fargo, North Dakota began his journey to the spirit world on February 27th, 2020 from Fargo, ND. He was born on July 16th, 1975 in Minneapolis, MN to Bernice (Johnson) and John Ross, Sr.
Johnny grew up and attended school in Minneapolis, graduating from South High School. He was a nomad of sorts, roaming to many different places. Johnny liked to fish and travel, making many friends wherever he went. His fun-loving spirit will be missed.
Family that Johnny is reunited with are his parents, Bernice and John Ross, Sr.; grandparents, Lillian (White) and Antoine Johnson; aunt, Frances Littlewolf and uncle, Steven Littlewolf.
He is survived by his sons, Sylas and Shaun Fineday both of Ponemah; sisters, Roxanne Johnson of Grand Forks and Deborah Modrow of Waconia; brothers, Gregory Johnson of Grand Forks, Rodney (Sandy White) Johnson of Federal Dam and Jason Ross of Fargo; grandchildren, Matayo Jourdain-Fineday and Daeson Fineday; aunts, Donna Day, Della Littlewolf, Cheryl Littlewolf and Verna King; uncles, Cedric (Annette), Timothy (Laura), Ronald (Jenny), Brian (Kristy) Littlewolf, and Earl Johnson, girlfriend, Bonnie White, mother of his children, Carene Fineday, several nieces, nephews, many relatives and a lot of friends.
An overnight wake for Johnny will begin at 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 13th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Saturday, March 14th all to be held at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum, MN. Pastors Jim Lahn and Mick Moreno will officiate. Johnny’s honorary pallbearers are his sons Sylas Fineday and Shaun Fineday and his siblings Rodney Johnson, Gregory Johnson, Jason Ross and Roxanne Johnson. Inurnment will be with his mother, Bernice, in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery at Old Agency, MN.
