Josephine “Kissie” Marie Roybal, 56, of Minneapolis, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Saturday, December 18th, 2021, from her home. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 23rd, 1965, to Loretta (King) Pacheco and Donald Staples, Sr.
Kissie loved her grandchildren dearly. She also loved her music and dancing. Kissie enjoyed going for long walks and spending time at the lake. She enjoyed playing card games and dice with her family and friends but her favorite thing to do was being with her family. She will greatly be missed.
Family that Kissie is reunited with are her parents; Loretta Pacheco and Donald Staples, Sr., sister; Susie Roybal, brothers; Albert Roybal and Donald “Happy” Sayers, first cousins; Roslyn and Alberta “Webbie” King and several other family members.
Those she leaves behind to forever cherish her memory are her daughter; Natasha (Nery) Roybal of Minneapolis, brothers; Benjamin (Carol Whitefeather) Roybal of Minneapolis, Simon Roybal of Redby, Donald Francis (Lisa Sayers) Roybal of Bemidji, John Daniel Roybal of Bemidji, Donald John Staples, Jr. of Cass Lake, and William (Jolene Kegg) Staples of Cass Lake, sisters; Glendora Ellis of Walker, Dawn Staples of Cass Lake and Joann (Rodney Cooper) Staples of Cass Lake, 11 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives.
Wake services for Kissie will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th and continue overnight until her 10:00 a.m. funeral service on Thursday, December 30th all being held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Father George Ross will officiate. Helping to lay Kissie to rest are Fernando Roybal, Colin Roybal, Donavan Staples, William White, Markell Whitefeather, River Roybal and Elanzo Roybal. Her honorary pallbearers are Benny, John, Donald, Simon, Albert, Dondi, William Glendora, Dawn and Joann. Interment will be in the Redby Cemetery at Redby, MN immediately following her Wednesday service.
