Judy Ann (Kingbird) French

Judy Ann French, Ma-iingan, meaning Wolf, age 75, of Ponemah, MN and the Eagle Clan journeyed to the spirit world from Neilson Place Nursing Home in Bemidji, MN on Sunday, September 11, 2022. She was born June 13th, 1947, in Red Lake Hospital, the daughter of the late Fred Kingbird, Sr. and the late Sarah (Horton) Kingbird.

Judy was a caring, kind, and loving, fun lady who knew how to make everyone laugh. She enjoyed playing cards, dice, puzzle’s and being with her children and friends. She liked watching WWE Wrestling and loved having her grandchildren around her.

Judy attended Ponemah Elementary School then attended Red Lake High School. Judy was a homemaker.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Judy are her children, Roberta (Louis) Kingbird of Warroad, MN, Kathy (Arnie) white of Warroad, Shaun (Doreen) French, Sr., Darren French, Sr., Shannon Kingbird of Ponemah, Cindy Kingbird of Warroad, Kurt French of Dilworth, MN, Francis French of Bemidji, MN, Robert (Robin) French, Jr. of Ponemah, step-daughter, Vivian Freeman of Ponemah, and a special daughter Julie Johnson of Ponemah; siblings, Rudy Kingbird, Mardell Iceman, Alfred Kingbird, Sr., Elsie (Robert) Rushman all of Ponemah; numerous nieces and nephews; 25 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; and 3 great-greatgrandchildren.  

Those greeting Judy in the spirit world are her husband, Robert French, Sr.; parents, Fred and Sarah Kingbird; son, Craig French; daughter, Eva French; grandchildren, Tyler, Liam, and baby French; sisters, Verna, Regina, Lillian, Grace, Elsie, Liza; brothers, Gerry, Fred; and her grandparents.

A two-night wake for Judy will begin Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. and continue until her Friday, September 16, 2022, 10:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Judy’s Spiritual Advisor will be Zach Early. Those helping to lay Judy to rest will be Andrew French, Arnie White, Loren Kingbird, Jr., Tyler Rosebear, Roger Kingbird, Dayton French, and Cheyanne Kingbird. Honorary pallbearers are all Judy’s brothers, sisters, children, and grandchildren. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN.
