Julie Corrine Dick, 61 of Deer River, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world from Fair Oaks Lodge, Wadena, Minnesota, on Monday June 29, 2026. Julie was born on Tuesday, December 29, 1964, in Cass Lake, Minnesota, the daughter of Betty Lou Partridge and Cecil Dale Wind.
Julie was a most loving soul who thought of others more than herself. She loved gardening and oriental music, and adored collecting samurai art. She was devoted to learning in all forms and was also an artist. Her life was nourished by her grandmother Elizabeth Partridge and special grandparent Fredrick Hanks.
Her friend's grandchildren loved to also visit Julie, who would hide so they could find her. She looked for love a few times, found a few hopes, but no one was for her in this world. She was given a hope chest by her mother who passed away when Julie was 13 that she cherished and had it to this day.
After her mother's passing, Julie went to live with her brother Calvin and his family for a few years, eventually her brother moved to Washington, and she found her way there also. She learned many trades from homemaking to working on the fishing boats off the Ports in Washington and resided in Bellingham, WA. Her work took her to Mississippi where she resided and worked until moving back to the Leech Lake area around the time of her brother's passing. Once home, she lived with her nephew Kelly's family until getting her home in Deer River, Mn and worked many years at the White Oak Casino as a surveillance officer. Kelly eventually stayed with her until her diagnosis of heart failure. She was a great soul and a true warrior.
Family that welcomes her into the Spirit World are her parents, Betty Lou Dick (Partridge) and Cecil Dale Wind, her grandparents, Elizabeth and Richard Partridge, brothers, Calvin Dick and Kelly Dick, and special grandparent Fredrick Hanks.
She Leaves behind to cherish her memory, nephew Kelly Hart, niece Deanna Croaker (Dick), great nephews Dwayne Hart and Theodore Croaker, and Elijah Kern, numerous cousins, and her good friend Nicole.
Traditional services for Julie will begin at 5:00pm on Thursday, July 9 and continue until 12:00pm Saturday, July 11 at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum MN. Interment at the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery in Onigum, MN will follow Saturday Services. Her Spiritual advisor will be Donald Wright.
