Kenneth Wayne Hough, Sr., age 68 of Cass Lake, Minnesota, began his journey to the spirit world on September 19, 2023, for Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Kenneth was born to Jack Hough and Caroline Wind on June 8, 1955, in Cass Lake, MN. He grew up in California and Washington.
Ken joined the United States Marines in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1975. He met and married Roberta Headbird in 1976. After being discharged from the Marines he went to tech school to become an auto mechanic. Ken’s passion was working on vehicles, welding, building generators, and fixing anything that needed to be fixed. Ken enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, and grilling out with his family. He enjoyed family get togethers, he was always the first to arrive. In the past couple of years, he started to watch grilling videos and sharing them with his kids on “tik tok”. Ken will always be remembered as a very kind patient man, always willing to do anything for anyone.
The family that Kenneth is reunited with are his parents, Caroline Wind, Marvin Mokeac and Jack Hough; brothers, Anthony Rivera, Terrance Mokeac, and Steven Hough in infancy; sisters, Enola Ortiz, Patty Hough, and Kathy Burnette.
Those Kenneth leaves behind to cherish his memory are sons, Kenneth Hough, Jr. and Andrew Hough; daughters, Jawnie Hough and Elizabeth Hough; sisters, Elizabeth Maliepaard, Audrey Hough-Staples, and Jennifer Robins; grandchildren, Meghan Brun, Aaron Wind, Jr., Mya Jones, Hannah Saul, Cameryn Rice, Lonan Rice, Kendall Rice, Eliana Hough, Jurnee Hough, Tucker Hough, Dani Hough, Cali Hough, William Isham, and Oliva Hough.
An overnight wake for Kenneth will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, September 23, 2023, all to be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minnesota. Kenneth’s Spiritual Advisor is Dustin Burnette. Those helping to lay Kenneth to rest are Aaron Wind, Jr., Lonan Rice, Kenneth Hough, Jr., Andrew Hough, John Wind, and Josh Wind. Alternates are Bobby Headbird, Kevin Burnette, and Martin Wind. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth’s grandchildren, Larry Keezer, Harry Morris, Tonia Bissonette, and Mike Robinson. Interment will be at the Leech Lake Veteran’s Cemetery in Cass Lake following the service.
