Kenneth Perrault Obituary

Kenneth Verdell Perrault “Majiigabow” passed away on October 19, 2023.  His Loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn was by his side.  Kenneth was born March 20, 1944, in White Earth Minnesota.

Kenneth grew up in Deer River MN., where he graduated high school in 1962.  Immediately upon graduating he joined the United States Marines.  He served from 1962 until 1965, he was stationed on the USS Oriskany off the shores of Vietnam during the war.  

After being discharged from the Marines he worked for Electric Machinery and for the U.S. Geological Survey.

On October 30, 1971, he married his soul mate Evelyn (Bullock).  Also, in that year he got a job with Great Lakes Gas, and in 1976 he was recruited to work for Alyeska Pipeline Company.  He worked for them for 23 years as a pump station supervisor.

He retired in 1999 and they moved to Cass Lake Minnesota.  He was a proud member of the post 2001 of the American Legion and the Leech Lake Honor Guard; he was the post commander from 2002-2006.  He served on the parish council at St Theodores church in Laporte Minnesota and was Chairman of Kateri Tekakwitha from 2004-2012. At St. Charles, Ken and Evelyn were able to go to Rome Italy for the Canonization Ceremony for Kateri Tekakwitha in October of 2012.

Those greeting Ken in the Spirit World are his mother, Veryl “Scotty” Perrault; father, Roland “Bud” Perrault; sister, Cheryl Churchill; brothers, William Perrault and Mark Perrault.

Ken is Survived by his loving wife of 52 years Evelyn Perrault; Son, Kevin Perrault; daughter, Stepanie (Mike) Kurtzweil; Brother, Richard (Lynn) Perrault; sister, Cindy (Keith) Kuck; grandchildren, Bradley (Judy) Kurtzweil, Brandon Kurtzweil, Brianna (Edward) McGowen, and Kodi Perrault.

A wake for Kenneth will begin on Friday October 27, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minnesota and continue until his Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Catholic Church, Cass Lake, MN. Saturday October 28, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with a luncheon to follow at the church.   Those helping to lay Ken to rest are the Leech Lake Honor Guard from American Legion Post 2001.  Honorary pallbearers are all his family and friends.
