Kevin Jerome Basswood, Jr.

Kevin Basswood Jr. “Manidoo inini” which means “Spirit Man” the son of Crystal Tucker and Kevin Basswood Sr. Passed away on October 6, 2023. Kevin was born September 7, 1994.

Growing up Kevin spent a lot of his youth growing up in Pine Point with his 3 younger siblings. (Brittany Tucker-Spears, Tiffany Tucker-Spears, Blaze Tucker) He enjoyed videogames and football growing up, as he got older and older, he loved spending his free time driving around listening to his music, visiting his family, and watching the Vikings on Sundays. He loved his family and friends; he was always hyper and joking around. He has always been known to go out of his way to help you, no matter what, he would give you the clothes off his back if he needed too. He had 3 adorable little kids, Kiauna Basswood as his oldest daughter and Cayden Clark as his son and another that passed away during pregnancy. He had an unbreakable bond with his nieces and nephew.

Those greeting Kevin in the spirit world are his mother, Crystal Tucker; grandmother, Patsy Warren and many relatives and friends.

Kevin is survived by his grandmother, Delores Bellanger; father, Kevin Basswood, Sr.; son, Kayden Basswood; daughter, Kianna Basswood; brother, Blaze Tucker; sisters, Brittany Tucker-Spears and Tiffany Tucker-Spears; nieces, Envy Tucker, Azayla Tucker, Aiyanna Tucker, A’lani Tucker; nephew, Armani Tucker,  aunties, Rochelle Basswood, Kristine, Missy, Tina, Nakita, and Zeegwunikay Warren; uncles, Leroy and Kelvin Basswood, and Harley Warren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

A wake for Kevin will begin on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. and continue until his Saturday, October 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. Traditional Service, all to be held at the Pine Point “Old School” Community Center, Ponsford, Minnesota. Kevin’s Spiritual Advisor is Allen Hardy. Those helping to lay Kevin to rest are Blaze Tucker, Randy Kettle, Dan Warren, Brett Stevens, Devon French, Randy Warren, Kristine Warren, and Zeegwunikay Warren. Honorary pallbearers are Brittany Tucker-Spears, Tiffany Tucker-Spears, Adrian Warren, Brett Warren, and Delores Bellanger. Interment will follow services in the St. Theodore Catholic Cemetery Ponsford, MN.
