Laurence Herbert McLaren, age 77, of Osage, MN passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was born October 8, 1944, in District of Columbia, the son of Iris (Smith) and Hilton McLaren.
Laurence loved nature and wildlife, especially watching birds. He always had a story to tell, he enjoyed tinkering on things and always had that “missing part” someone might need one day. He was always willing to help anyone he could. He enjoyed teaching others when they were eager to learn. He married the love of his life, Rose, on July 5, 1969, in Shell Rock, IA. Laurence knew how to enjoy life, he ate his favorite foods, listened to his favorite music, and did the things he really wanted to do, even when it was suggested not to be done. He was the most patient and kindhearted man most would have been lucky enough to have met, and he will be dearly missed.
Family that Laurence rejoins are his parents, Iris and Hilton McLaren, sister, Velma Allen, and brother, Richard McLaren.
Those left behind to cherish the memory of Laurence are his loving wife, Rose of Osage; daughters, Lori McLaren of St. Paul, MN, Lisa (Andy) Johnson of Akeley, MN, son, Matt (Angie) McLaren of Andover, MN; grandsons, Jesse McLaren, Wyatt Anderson, Victor Mastley, Nicholas McLaren; granddaughters, Masha Anderson, Cole Mastley, Rose Mastley, Emma McLaren, Jaidan Mahlberg; and great-grandson, Emmett McLaren.
No services are being planned at this time.
