Loren Eugene French, “Migizi” which means “Bald Eagle” of the Bear Clan, age 65, journeyed to the spirit world on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, from the Sanford Medical Center in Bemidji, MN. He was born on April 28, 1958, the son of Florence (LaRose) and Raymond French in Park Rapids, MN.
Loren enjoyed ricing, bough picking, and mechanic work. He was always willing to help anybody anytime. He loved spending time with his grandsons, Trevor and Travis Tellstrom.
Those greeting Loren in the spirit world are his mom, Florence French; dad, Raymond French; stepdad, Anton Mountain; sister, Arlette Mountain; brothers, Arlen and Dave Mountain.
Those Loren leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his life partner, Bonnie Morris; son, Lance (Leah) Summers; sisters, Antonette (Donald) Mountain, Valerie French Jensen, and Diane Mountain; brothers, Anthony “Tony” and Kevin Mountain; step kids, Angie Morris (Chris) and Joe Morris; grandchildren, Avayah Badmoccasin, Redsky Badmoccasin, Eric Bevins, Elicia Bevins, Trevor Tellstrom and Travis Tellstrom, Nathan Fairbanks; greatgrandchildren, Ilyanoa Bevins, Ayziah Bevins, Ayana Badmoccasin, Elyziah Bevins, Jackson Bevins, Alaicla Fairbanks, Angel Bevins, Zayne Bevins, Avayah Bevins, and Zayne Bevins.
A two-day wake for Loren will begin on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., and continue until his January 30, 2024, traditional service at 11:00 a.m., all to be held at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum, MN. Loren’s Spiritual Advisor is Melvin Goodman. Those helping to lay Loren to rest are Lucas French, Jason French, Steven French, Sr., Joe Morris, Jordan Troy, and Dave Eischens. The alternate pallbearers are Jage Hunt, Ronald Hunt and Vernon Howard Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all his family, friends, and his firefighting family. Interment will be in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery in Onigum, MN.
