Marilyn Roberta Herbek, 90, of Walker, MN, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025.
She was born to Ethel (Brearley) and Kenneth Chalmers in Providence, Rhode Island on August 28, 1934.
Marilyn married the love of her life Dale Herbek in 1952. They moved to Hillman, Michigan shortly thereafter.
Marilyn loved to cook and bake for all her family. Marilyn and Dale loved to go dancing on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as bowling. She loved a good game of cards with her friends. Marilyn was a gifted singer, she truly enjoyed music.
Marilyn was happiest when she was around family, ESPECIALLY her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Christmas was her favorite time, this past Christmas she got to spend it with a lot of family.
Marilyn is reunited with her husband, Dale Herbek; daughter, Debbie Licht; parents, Ethel and Kenneth Chalmers; sister, Barbara Dolan; mother and father -in-law Aurthur and Neva Herbek.
Marilyn leaves behind sons; Dale (Anita) Herbek, Ken (Lorie) Herbek, Rick (Mary) Herbek; brothers, Ken Chalmers and Jack Chalmers; sisters, Sis Tertrault and Helen Horton; grandchildren, Jenny, Carla, Jason, Janine, Michael, Eric, Adam, Chris, and Elena; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Services for Marilyn will be February 1, 2025, with a visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., and service at 11:00 a.m., all to be held at Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker, MN. Urn bearers will be Mike, Eric, and Adam Herbek. Pastor Matthew McWaters will officiate. Marilyn will be going home with family.
