Marilyn Staples Obituary

Marilyn Kay Staples “Jo Jo”, age 55, of Cass Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Saturday, August 21st, 2021, from the Cass Lake IHS in Cass Lake, MN.  She was born on Friday, July 15th, 1966, in Bemidji, MN to Naomi Staples and Burnham Wilson.

Marilyn’s sense of humor was one of a kind, she loved to make people laugh and you hardly saw her face without a smile.  She had a lot of friends and a very large family, and she liked visiting them all.  Marilyn loved her children, grandchildren, and her entire family immensely.  She was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone, whenever she could.  She loved to clean and everyone who knew her knew that about her.  Marilyn loved her music and was never without a radio.  Her favorite things were doing her word find puzzles, watching Criminal Minds and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her infectious smile and laugh will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Family that Marilyn is reunited with are her parents; Naomi and Burnham, her sisters; Louella “Anna” and Barbara “Punkin” and her brothers; Michael and Jason “Jay”, several aunts, uncles, other relatives and close friends.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons; David Staples, Sr. of Cloquet, Nicholas Staples of Minneapolis and Matthew (Jennifer) Haltli of North Dakota, her daughters; Diane (Chris) Staples of Cass Lake, Racheal Staples of Minneapolis and Casey (Austin) Haltli of Wilton, brothers; Burnham “Dauser” (Ramanda) Drouillard, James “Jim” (Ashley) Brown and Mark Wilson, sisters; Karen “Hopper” (David) Staples and Brenda Pence, her grandchildren; Mariah, Savannah, Amiera, David Jr. and Kameron Staples, Madison Morris, Leo Haltli, Christopher, Tyler and Jordan Kangas, Julian Lazo, Natatlie, Nathan and Charles Huesers, great granddaughter; Koa Lazo, life long friend and ex-husband; David Swanholm, numerous nieces, nephews, many other family members and friends.
