Marilyn Carol (McCabe) White

Marilyn Carol White, age 78, of Walker, MN passed away peacefully at the Edgewood May Creek Memory Care in Walker on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.  She was born on Sunday, September 29, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN the daughter of John and Dorothy (Doyle) McCabe.

Marilyn grew up in Minneapolis and attended Regina High School graduating in June of 1964.  She met Gary White in 1974 and the two were married in June of 1976.  Together they lived in various places before her retirement from the Prudential Insurance Company.  Marilyn and Gary moved to the east side of Walker following her retirement. She was very active in the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary helping whenever and wherever she was needed.  The two moved to Brainerd for health reasons, but their love was in Walker and two years later they moved back.

Marilyn loved to read books and going on fishing trips.  She also enjoyed taking mini vacations.  One of her favorite places of travel was to Hawaii where she had spent some time working.  Marilyn also liked to go antique shopping and collect glass swans. She had the biggest heart and always donated to animal shelters.

The family that Marilyn joins again are her parents, John and Dorothy McCabe and one brother, Jim McCabe.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary White of Walker, sister; Pamela McCabe of St. Louis Park, two nieces, several cousins and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at the Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Dave Smith will officiate.  Helping to lay Marilyn to rest are Doug Glassmann, Dewey Woodford, Dutch Schulz, Ryan Pels, Nate Morrison, and Gary Beckerleg.  Interment will be held in the Turtle Lake Cemetery following the service at the funeral home.
