Marjorie Lois Reinke, age 90, of Walker, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the Quiet Oaks Hospice House in St. Agusta, MN. Marge was born on September 4, 1933, in Ainsworth, IA, the daughter of Jess Alison Raymond and Mary Hazel (Everly).
Marjorie’s first marriage was to Paul Goodwin and together they had Andrea, Paula, and William. They moved from Davenport, IA to Walker to buy Walker Bay Resort and then the Walker Bowling Alley. They later divorced and Marjorie married Harvey Reinke, father of Kristine and Lori. Marge worked at Dahlem’s Restaurant and Sandy’s Super Market before working at Cass County Social Services for twenty years. Marge’s membership at Hope Lutheran Church was one of the most important aspects of her life. She was very involved in many different areas at Hope Lutheran. Marge and Harvey enjoyed camping and were involved in organizing the Good Sam Headwater Chapter. They did a lot of RV traveling throughout the US, Canada, and Alaska. After Harvey’s passing, Marge continued traveling to various places including Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Iceland, Sweden, Norway and southern Germany. She also took three different cruises.
The family that Marge joins again are her parents, Jess and Hazel; husband, Harvey Reinke; and one brother, Charles Raymond.
Those Marge leaves behind to cherish her memory are her son, William (Theresa) Goodwin; daughters, Andrea Bloomquist, Paula (Mark) Gibbons, Kristine (Dennis) Bohner, and Lori (David) Olson; numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
A celebration of Marge’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Matthew McWaters will officiate. A luncheon will be served at Hope Lutheran following services. Inurnment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Walker, MN, following the service at Hope Lutheran. In lieu of flowers memorial preferred to Hope Lutheran Church.
