Mary Lou Fisher, age 70, of Walker, MN passed away at her home on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with her loving family by her side. She was born on Sunday, August 21, 1955, in Park Rapids, MN the daughter of Roy and Alice (Bopp) Breitweser.
Mary grew up and graduated from Walker High School in 1973 and married Randy Fisher on September 22, 1973. They lived in Walker for the next six years before moving to Pillager in 1979. Eventually they moved back to Walker and built their current home in 1992.
Mary loved to read and it was estimated that she read over 1,000 novels in her lifetime. She enjoyed spending quality time in her garden where she created unique flower arrangements and garden art. Mary also enjoyed horses and watching her grandchildren perform in the rodeo and anything else that involved her grandkids. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. Mary also felt that it was important to give each one of them a personalized Bible for direction. She will be lovingly missed by her entire family and friends.
The family that Mary joins again are her parents, Roy and Alice Breitweser, two infant brothers, Donald and Richard, and brother-in law, Larry
Those she leaves being to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 52 years, Randy Fisher; son, Ryan (Candace) Fisher and daughter, Jessica (Rodney) Johnson, three brothers, Harold (Elvie), James (Denise) and Gary; one sister, Betty, 5 grandkids, Madison and Makenzie Fisher, Erica, Karly, and Mandy Johnson and one great grandkid coming soon.
A celebration of life will be held for Mary at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to the 1:00 p.m. service, all held at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker, MN. Pastor Matthew McWaters will officiate with the assistance of Pastor Dave Smith. Honorary pallbearers for Mary will be all her grandkids.
