Melvin Eugene Ogema-Bellanger

Melvin Eugene Ogema-Bellanger “Kyto” “Wabizheshe” started his spiritual journey on January 20th, 2026, he grew up in the Mission area of Cass Lake. Melvin was born on May 18, 2004, to Cecelia Ogema and James Bellanger.

A wake for Melvin will begin at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the Mission Community Center. His funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Interment will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery at Cass Lake/Mission, MN. Pallbearers for Melvin are Leonard Bellanger, Joshua Kingbird Jr., Carlo LaGarde, Derek White, Waylon Ogema, Jerome White, Raymond Ogema. His honorary pallbearers are everyone who loved and cared for him.

Melvin would always kick ass in any game he played; he would always wake up sickly and ready for anything. He would always appreciate a good meme he loved making people laugh, everyone has a good Melvin story he was always down for a good time, he was definitely special in many ways he had a good heart and soul he will be missed by everyone who came across his path. Please remember the good times of him as he would want that.

The joy of his life is his daughter Carla Thea Bellanger-Martinez, he always made sure she was good before himself. He always said “I love you” to her, he loved and cared for anyone especially his nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters and any others who may not be mentioned as he knew and loved a lot of people.

He is survived by his daughter Carla Thea, his mother Cecelia Ogema and father James Bellanger, brothers; Arnie “Arn” Ogema-Bellanger, Raymond “Ray” Ogema, Waylon “Way” Ogema, Julius Ogema, Emanuel “Ej” Headbird, Carlo LaGarde, Joshua “Josh” Kingbird, Patrick (Jeannie) Warner Sr., James Anderson, Sheldon Smith. Sisters; Angela, Yvonne Bellanger, Aurora Ogema, Chloe LaGarde, Mandi Howard, Vanessa “Vee” Headbird, Paige Headbird, Ni-Inde “Nellie” Jones, Maricella “Cell” Rodriguez.

Those he joins in the spirit world are his grandmothers Pasty Headbird, and Georgi Ogema, his grandfather’s Frank Raisch, Sr., and Melvin Ogema, his aunt Karen Raisch, his uncle Leslie Headbird, his brothers Andrew Fisher and Michael “MJay” Bellanger.
