Michelle Marie Burnette, “Makwa-Manidoque” age 53, of West Allis, Wisconsin began her journey to the spirit world on Friday, July 26th, 2019 from the Aurora West Allis Medical Center, in West Allis, WI. She was born in Cass Lake, MN on June 13th, 1966 to Ronald and Anna (Whipple) Burnette.
Michelle had many things she enjoyed doing, such as; going to thrift shops and rummage sales, watching movies, cooking and having BBQ’s. She was a great artist who loved to draw, but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her God daughters, Serenity and Nevaeh.
She welcomed to the spirit world by her mother, Anna Burnette; grandmothers, Dora Whipple and Alice Burnette; grandfather, John Whipple; aunt and uncle, Debra and Perry Whipple; niece, Rebecca Anderson and numerous other relatives.
Family left behind to cherish her memory are her father and step-mother, Ronald (Tamara) Burnette of Sugar Point; her sisters, Doreen Burnette of Minneapolis, Rhonda Burnette of Bemidji, Tara (Randall) Burnette and Renee Norris both of Sugar Point, her significant other; Beryle Thompson, her God daughters; Serenity and Nevaeh, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A wake for Michelle will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 31st and continue until her 1:00 p.m. traditional service on Friday, August 2nd all to be held at the Bena Community Center in Bena, MN. Mike Smith will be her Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Michelle will be Bruce Anderson, Robert Anderson, Roland Anderson, Jr., Jerry Mtchell, Gary Van Pelt and John Shaugobay. Her honorary pallbearers are Tony Butcher, Larry Hardy, Guy Greene, Giiwedin Biindegane, Dale Burnette, Justin Robinson and numerous other family members. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at Bena, MN.
