Myrna Deann Hardy, age 68, of the Bullhead Clan and from Deer River, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Thursday, February 12th, 2026, from the Essentia Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, MN. She was born the daughter of Shirley (Cloud) and Richard Hardy on Tuesday, September 24th, 1957, in Cass Lake, MN.
Myrna was a good single parent mother. She was raising five kids on her own and still managed to go to the college at Bemidji State University and take classes at Northwest Technical College, being honored by the Bemidji Pioneer for being on the B-Honor Roll. Myrna was a strong Native woman who struggled with inter-generational trauma in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s. In the early ‘90’s, 35 years ago, she was involved in a car accident, nearly dead, was air-lifted from Deer River to St. Luke’s in Duluth where they were able to save her life, though she was never the same. Fly high Myrna, for she is free now.
She is welcomed to the spirit world by her parents; Shirley and Richard Hardy, granddaughter; Shantaye, grandsons; Eric Jr., Dallas, and Anthony, and her brothers; Gerald and Bradley.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Bradley (Ashley) Hardy, Sr. and Eric (Amber) Strong, Sr., daughters; Delainey (Dwayne Graciano) Hardy, Angelica (Nicholas) Devault, and Marian (Chris Wakanabo) Hardy, brothers; Brian and Bezhig (Jennifer Fineday) Hardy, sister; Sharlene (Mark Blackwell) Hardy, 23 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
An overnight wake for Myrna will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Wednesday, February 18th all to be held at the Inger Community Center in Inger, MN. Zac Earley will be her Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Myrna will Ed Howard, Sam Johnson, Jr., Jeff Howard, Dale Robinson, Roger Johnson, and Simon Garbow, Jr. Her honorary pallbearers are Bradley Hardy, Sr., Eric Strong, Sr., Colin Hardy, Sr., Jeremy Jones, Gerald Jones, Brian Hardy, and Bezhig Hardy. Interment will be in the Inger Cemetery at Inger, MN immediately following her Wednesday service.
