Nancy Lynn Carlson, age 36, of the Eagle Clan and Cass Lake, MN, unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Thursday, May 11, 2023. She was born on July 28, 1986, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of Cynthia Gale and Donald S. Carlson.
Nancy grew up in Cass Lake. She enjoyed taking pictures of family and friends to make collages. She loved her music; all types from 1960’s, blues, country, rap, pop, and current hits, she listened to it all. Nancy was a loving mother, daughter, sister, best friend, and confidant to many. She loved hanging around with friends and family and was always willing to help anybody. Nancy was a people person who could spark a conversation with anyone. She was blessed in many ways in life. Nancy was an excellent cook, she and her son especially loved to make tacos together. Nancy’s world revolved around her son, Tristan, she loved being his mom and it truly showed. Nancy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those greeting Nancy in the spirit world are her stepdad, Joe Raisch; cousin, Lupe Rosillo; grandparents; aunts; and uncles.
Family Nancy leaves behind are her mom, Cynthia Gale; dad, Donald “Charlie” Carlson; son, Tristan R. Staples; father of her son, Robert “Bob” Staples; sister, Lauren Lee; uncle, Stuart Gale; close cousins, Clinton Bryan, Scott Bryan, Shawn Bryan, Alexandar Wittner, Alexandra Gale, Angel Rosillo; and numerous other family and friends.
An overnight wake for Nancy will begin Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. and continue until her Friday, May 19, 2023, 1:00 p.m. service, all to be held at the Facility Center in Cass Lake, MN. Nancy’s Spiritual Advisor is Tony Jenkins, Sr. Those helping lay Nancy to rest are Alex Wittner, Scott Bryan, Julian Weyaus, Eric White, Carl White, Sr., and Shanny White. Alternates are Steve Richardson and Mijakwad Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are all Nancy’s family and friends. Interment will follow in Ryan’s Village in Bena, MN.
