Nicholas Cruz Brown

Nicholas Cruz Brown “Mikinaak”, age 30, of St. Paul, began his spiritual journey on Thursday, August 30, 2018 in St. Paul, MN.  He was born on September 29, 1987 in Minneapolis, the son of Roxanne (Brown) Keller and Frank Hirsch. 

Nick enjoyed fishing, swimming, playing dominoes and spades with his uncle James.  He listened to all types of music, especially soul music like B.B. King and Otis Redding.  Nick loved karaoke and spending time with his cousins and other family.  He watched a lot of movies and was a Minnesota Vikings fan.  His favorite show was Vikings with Ragnar and Bjorn.  Nick enjoyed cooking, especially Mexican food, trying various hot sauces.  He found great joy in taking care of his dogs and loved his nieces and nephews to pieces.  Nick always found humor and laughter in the things he did.  “Snapper” will be dearly missed by all his family and friends.

The family that Nick joins again are his father Frank Hirsch and his cherished dog, King.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his mother, Roxanne Brown-Keller; sisters, Tina Keller and Zoey; brother, Kenneth Keller; many loving nieces, nephews, Alexia, Jada, Kenny III,  Kaiya, Kolton, Kash and Kage, aunts, uncles and cousins.

A wake for Nick will be held at 5:00 p.m., Friday, September 7th and will continue through Saturday, September 8th from 11:00 a.m., to 5:30 p.m., all held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake.  This time will be for gathering, telling stories, singing and visiting.  A celebration of his life will be held in the cities at a later date.  Pallbearers for Nick will be Kenneth Keller, Jr., Ray, Daniel, Harley, Mishiiki and Walt Brown.
