Orlan Earl Lauderbaugh, age 83, after a brief battle with cancer passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 25th, 2024, surrounded by family. He was born on May 14, 1940, the son of Weltha (Lindsey) and Chester Lauderbaugh in Bemidji, MN.
Orlan graduated from Bemidji High School in 1958. Orlan married Linda (Ulve) on October 25, 1958, and they had 3 children. He worked for Pepsi and Coke Bottling Companies; however, he spent most of his life as a concrete masonry contractor. Orlan built many beautiful fireplaces, houses, and sidewalks. He retired a few years ago, enjoying fishing in the summers with his cousin, Bruce and daughter, Jodell. Orlan and Linda enjoyed spending time in Texas during the winters with friends and family. Orlan was baptized a Jehovah Witness in 1986, and he liked sharing the word of Jehovah until his illness set in.
Orlan is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Sandra (David) Brein and Jodell Lauderbaugh; grandchildren, Amanda (Guy) Hildebrandt, Nick (Alicia) Lauderbaugh, Andrew Brein, Heather Lauderbaugh, Scott (Ashley) Brein, Marie Westrum, Bradley (Alyssa) Brein, and Robert Lauderbaugh; 17 great-grandchildren; brother, Michael (Lori) Lauderbaugh; brothers-in-law, Dave (Jean) Ulve and Tim (Mary) Ulve; sister-in-law, Gail Lauderbaugh; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, many brothers and sisters from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Orlan is preceded in death by his parents, Weltha and Chester; son, Orlan Lauderbaugh; granddaughter, Katie Westrum; great-grandson, Quinten Ward; brothers, Larry and Roland (Pattie) Lauderbaugh; sister, Patsy Posnick; and brother-in-law, John (Connie) Ulve.
A memorial service for Orlan will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation starting at 9:00 a.m., all to be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1659 Adams Ave., Bemidji, MN. Brother John Flaws will officiate. A luncheon will follow from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Nary Community Center, 25895 County Rd 9, Bemidji, MN.
