Randall Eugene Burnette, a beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away May 4th, 2026.
Randy was born May 3, 1960 to Wanda (Baker) and James Burnette Jr. His childhood years were spent in Winslow, AZ, Cass Lake, MN and Savannah, GA. Randy spent his adult life in Cass Lake and Bemidji, before moving to Hayward, WI, and eventually New Town, ND to live with his daughter and grandchildren.
Above all else, Randy loved his children with his whole heart. His pride in them was evident to everyone who knew him. He is survived by his children: Kayla (James) Koenig, Dustin (Lynn) Burnette and Kevin Burnette; and grandchildren: Jarrick, Kedrick, James, Lilah, Adrianna, Mason, Katie, Jace, Ione, Jax, Kevin Jr. and Aiden. Each of them held a special place in his life, and he loved every one of them.
Randy was a hardworking and dedicated man who gave many years of service to his community. Throughout the years, he worked for the Wittner family, Potlatch, Pine Ridge Apartments, and Hayward, WI Public Schools, dedicating ten or more years to each. His strong work ethic and reliability left a lasting impression on his coworkers and family.
In his free time, Randy embraced the things he loved most. He enjoyed playing for the Cass Lake Reds as a young man, bowling, and was especially passionate about fantasy football—something he truly lived for and took great pride in.
Randy also had a deep and unconditional love for his dogs—Ava, Duke, and Lucy—who were constant companions and brought him comfort and happiness.
He will be remembered for his love of family, his jump-scare humor, and his kindness.
A celebration of Randall’s life will be held at the White Earth Family Center (old American Legion) in Cass Lake, MN from 11am-1pm on Saturday, May 9th. Please join his family for lunch, and to remember Randy.
