Rebecca Shaharazon Medlock

Rebecca “Shaharazon” Medlock, age 59, began her journey to the spirit world on Friday, July 31st, 2020 from her home in Minneapolis, MN with her family by her side.

She was born in Minneapolis, MN on July 22nd, 1961 to Georgia Ann Greene and John Wesley Medlock.  Shaharazon was a great person that touched lives of so many.  She was a great sister, cousin, friend, aunt and mother, not just to her own but to so many others.  No matter what was going on, her door was always open.  If you needed an ear, a shoulder, food, a place to sleep, a hug, a smile or just a good laugh you could always go to her and be treated like family.  Although she had a hard life, her heart was full of love and she shared that love with all of us.  There are no words that can describe the light she could help us feel when we were in Dark Places.  When we were down if was uplifting just being around her.  She was loved Way Beyond what she knew.  She was strong and although she is gone, we will never forget you.  To our Matriarch, we love you, miss and will always remember you.  Rest in peace.

Family that welcomes Shaharazon to the spirit world are her parents, Georgia Greene and John Medlock; her baby brother, William Craig Daley; nephews, Jereau Smith and Cornelius Bridges; Jeff Bolden, and many aunties and uncles.

Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Marcel Medlock of St. Cloud, Willis and Fabian Medlock and Chris Clevenger all of Minneapolis; her daughters, Mercedes and Patience Medlock both of Minneapolis; brothers, Jack, Jeff and Gary Daley; sisters, Bershawn Medlock and Angel Jones; 13 grandchildren, her significant other, Zackary Dunlap; her birthday twins, Kennita “Buck” Medlock and Jamal “Noppy” Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Wakes services for Shaharazon will begin at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 5th and continue until her 1:00 p.m. traditional service on Friday, August 7th all being held at the Sugar Point Community Center in Federal Dam, MN.  Rudy Jones will officiate.  Helping to lay Shaharazon to rest are Marcel Medlock, Jack Daley, Fabian Medlock, Willis Medlock, Josh Patterson, Norman Gardner, Andre Daley and Chris Clevenger.  Her honorary pallbearers are all her family and friends.  Interment will be in the Battle Point Burial Grounds at Federal Dam, MN following her Friday services.
