Ressina Leann Hunt

Ressina Leann Hunt, age 34, of the Eagle Clan and Cass Lake, MN, unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Friday, September 13th, 2024, from Cass Lake. She was born as a twin with Ronald Hunt on June 18, 1990, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Lorena Johnson and Roland Hunt, Sr.

Ressina then moved to Northern Minnesota to be closer to family and the Leech Lake Reservation. She attended and graduated from Bemidji High School. Ressina was later blessed with a beautiful daughter, Delraya. She enjoyed life with all her loved ones, Barbeques, playing scratch offs, and many craft projects. Ressina had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party! She liked traveling to see family and friends in the community. Ressina’s favorite holiday was Halloween, and she always dressed for the occasion. She loved listening to music, but above all else she loved spending time with family.

Those greeting Ressina in the spirit world are her parents, Lorena Johnson and Roland Hunt, Sr.; grandparents, Leona and Floyd Johnson, Phyllis Chief, and James Hunt, Sr.; brother, Roland Leslie Hunt, Jr.; and sister, Rachelle Hunt.

Those Ressina leaves behind to forever cherish her loving memory are her daughter, Delraya Hunt-Rushman; brothers, Steve Smith, Daniel Hunt, Jage (Jamie) Hunt, Sr., Ronald Hunt; sisters, Rosalind (Thomas) Leon and Rayna (Paul) Hunt; close cousins, Belinda, Rachelle, Nancy, Ashley; numerous nieces and nephews.

An overnight wake for Ressina will begin on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m., and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 19, 2024, all to be held at the Prescott Center in Cass Lake. Ressina’s Spiritual Advisor is Adrian “Naabekwa” Liberty. Those helping to lay Ressina to rest are Derek Hunt, Jage Hunt, Jr., Rayden Hunt, Isiah Troy, Cody Rushman, Armondo Leon, Patrick Lowry, and Arlen Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronald Hunt, Rayna Hunt, Jage Hunt, Sr., and Rozalina Hunt. Ressina’s final resting place will be home with family.
