Richard Allen Sletten, born on February 12th, 1970, in Bagley, Minnesota went home to his Lord and Savior on February 16, 2025, from Baptist Health in Louisville, Kentucky. He was the son of Patricia and Larry Sletten.
He was raised in Shevlin, MN until the age of three when his family made a move to Louisville. Richard spent several years there before eventually moving with his family back to Shevlin. After graduating from Bagley High School in 1990, Richard pursued his Auto Mechanics Certificate from Northwest Technical College from 1991-1993. Richard was a devoted family man and amazing dad to his children, Jacob (Robyn) Sletten, Brittney (Chance) Sletten, Kara (Kodi) Sletten and Joshua Sletten. The lights of his life were his grandchildren Carson, Caden, Braelyn, Braxtyn, Brinleigh, Elaina, Olivia, Kinsley, Isabella, Cora and Aubrielle. Richard was loved by everyone who knew him because of his unconditional love and willingness to help anyone in need. His kindness touched the lives of many.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Richard leaves behind are his siblings: Jacquline (Cecil) Lee, Shannon Bonds, Melissa Sletten, Edward “Teddy” Sletten, Ruby (Pete) Madden, and Jean Ann (Eddie), numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Richard is reunited with his parents, Patricia Miles and Lawrence Sletten; brother Dean Sletten, his grandparents and several other relatives.
A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at Bagley City Park in Bagley, MN from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. A private family inurnment in Moose Community Cemetery at Shevlin, MN will be held later.
