Robert Paul Charwood

Robert Paul Charwood, 51, “Mawinazh Makwa”, which means “Charging Bear” began his spiritual journey on July 11, 2024, at Sanford Bemidji Hospital. He was born on August 17, 1972, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the son of Muriel (Charwood) Crawford and William Beaulieu.

Rob was employed at Cedar Lakes Casino as a shift manager. Rob loved his job. He was also an avid Steelers fan. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories and jokes. Rob loved his family and spending time with them.

Rob leaves behind his loving mother and stepfather, Muriel and Carl Crawford; special stepfather, Kenn Litzau Sr.; daughters, Heather, Maddi (Francis), and Abby Charwood; son, Brett Jones-Charwood; sisters, Kerri Rousu, Dawn (Donovan) Staples, Kim Beaulieu, Jewett, and Cynthia Jackson; brother, Kenn Litzau; step siblings, Michelle Litzau, Victor Litzau, and Duane Litzau; grandchildren, Avery Jones, Scarlett Jones, Alivia Bellanger, Audrianna Bellanger, Maximus Bellanger, Ariella Brun, Ningozis Brun, and Aliza Brun; special nieces and nephews, Kenny, Kellan, Bella, Katana, Emma, Kit, Damon, Darian, Deacon, Dion; auntie, Joyce Fowler; and many others.

Those greeting Rob in the spirit world are his grandparents, Robert and Louise Charwood; uncles, Robert “Bob” and Darrell Charwood; aunties, Adrienne Hanson and Arlene Swedman; nephew, Kevin Litzau; father, William Beaulieu; good friends, William “Bill” Major and Jeremy Kraskey.

Pallbearers for Robert are Kenn Litzau, Michael Roybal, Eduardo Roybal, Damon Staples, Joe Redeagle, and Michael Charwood. Alternate pallbearers are Ross Lueck and Deacon Staples. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell “Dino” Charwood, Avery Jones, Dennis Mason, and Eric Anderson.

An overnight wake for Robert will begin on Wednesday, July 17,2024 at 5:00 p.m., at the ‘S’ Lake Community Center and will continue until the funeral service on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, “S” Lake, Minnesota, officiated by Father Jeremy Bock. Interment will be in the Round Lake Cemetery in ‘S’ Lake.
