Robert James Loons

Robert James Loons, age 69, of Mahnomen, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Thursday, December 24th, 2020 from the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND.  He was born April 10th, 1951 in Cass Lake, MN, the son of Lawrence and Mary Bellanger-Loons.

Robert enjoyed going to the casino, drawing and spending time with his family and friends.  He liked to joke around a lot with everyone, telling his stories and making people laugh.  Robert was very artistic in his own way, finding beauty and joy in the little things in life.  He made sure that he was always there for his grandchildren, who were like his children and loved the rest of his family dearly.  Robert believed in the Lord as his personal savior.

Family that will greet Robert to the spirit world are his parents, Lawrence Loons and Mary Bellanger-Loons; brothers, David and James Loons; sister, Louise Bush and his special friend and late wife, Ramona Buckanaga-Loons.

He leaves behind his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Gloria Roy, Kevin Doerr, Michelle Doerr, Christina Doerr, Derek Doerr, Martin Doerr, Angel Roy, Ramona Roy-Cadotte, Robert Cadotte III and Ethan Cadotte and many other relatives and friends.

An overnight wake for Robert will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4th, 2021 and continuing until his 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Tuesday, January 5th all to be held at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth, MN.  Reverend Jackie Bernacki will officiate.  Pallbearers for Robert will be Terry Bush, Joe Bush, Jerry Bush, Robert Cadotte III, Eric Bankey and Dayton Jones.  His honorary pallbearers are all his nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  At Robert’s request, his ashes will be scatter near his late wife in Minneapolis, MN at a later date.
