Robert John Johnson
December 7, 1952 – June 13, 2026
Robert “Bob” Johnson was born in Langdon, North Dakota, to Carl and Gudrun (Byron) Johnson. He attended Edinburg High School, graduating in 1970. Bob proudly served in the Army and National Guard and remained a lifetime member of the American Legion in Mountain, North Dakota.
Bob was a skilled electrician, working both as a self-employed tradesman and for many years at the Cavalier Space Force Station, where he built a respected career before retiring in 2014. No matter how busy he was, his greatest pride and joy came from marrying LouAnn in 1974 and raising their three children—Lisa, Jodi, and Carl. Their family grew with the addition of six cherished grandchildren, who lovingly knew him as “Afi.”
Known for his warm heart, remarkable laugh, and quiet generosity, Bob was truly a friend to all. He had a gift for storytelling and a knack for fixing just about anything—especially when it came to keeping family and friends on the road. A devoted Harley-Davidson enthusiast, he also enjoyed hunting whenever he could steal a moment away from his work in support of his family.
Bob is survived by his loving wife LouAnn (Marquardt) Johnson; his children Lisa Morton, Jodi Johnson, and Carl (Nina) Johnson; and his grandchildren, Stephen Smith; Emily and Brandon Morton; and Molly, Greta, and Miles Johnson. He is also survived by his siblings Sam Johnson and Karen (Garnet) Fraser and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-law siblings who will remember his humor and kindness.
He was preceded in death by his immediate family members parents Carl and Gudrun Johnson and his brother Odean Johnson.
