Robert was a quiet man who kept to himself, yet he had the jokes when he wanted to, razzing on everyone.  He played football in high school and attended Law Enforcement training and became a Police Officer for Leech Lake until his health prevented him from working.  Bubba, as he was called, had no children of his own but was greatly loved by all the nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews who would follow him all over and climb on his lap when they where little.  He was their favorite uncle.  Bubba was an avid Vikings and Twins fan, watching them all the time.  His favorite shows were Jeopardy and Wrestling which he never missed.  Bubba played internet games with people from all over the world.  He will be greatly missed throughout the gaming world.

Family that welcomes Bubba to the spirit world are his parents; Margaret and Kenneth Smith, sister; Brenda Beaulieu, grandparents; Abraham and Maggie Smith, great grandmother; Elizabeth Lajeunesse, niece; Elizabeth White and several aunties and uncles.

He leaves behind his sisters; Beverly Beaulieu of Mission and Bonnie Beaulieu of Cass Lake, brothers; Kenneth Sr. and Dallas Smith both of Cass Lake, auntie; Diana Fisherman, uncles; Ronald Smith and Jimmy Day, numerous nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

Wake services for Bubba will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 4th and continue until his 1:00 p.m. funeral service on Saturday, November 6th all to be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN.  Father Matthew Cobb will officiate.  Pallbearers for Bubba will be Eugene “Jeep” White, Zachary White, Brandon Beaulieu, Richard Beaulieu, David White, and Darrick Beaulieu.  His honorary pallbearers are Ronald “Ringo” Smith, Bev Beaulieu, Bonnie Beaulieu, Ken Smith, Sr., Dallas Smith, Debbie Stately and all his family and friends.  Bubba will be buried next to his mother in the Old Agency Catholic Cemetery at Old Agency, MN.
