Roland Dean Beavers

Roland Dean Beavers, age 84, of Backus, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home with family by his side, on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021. He was born December 26, 1936, at home in Ansel Township, MN, the son of Leora (Kruthoff) and Leland Beavers.

Roland loved fishing, hunting, and trapping. He had a great sense of humor and was always picking on his wife, Wilma, or the person nearest to him. He proudly served 16 years on the Backus Fire Department. He loved every moment spent with family, especially Christmas Eve, where Oyster Stew and a large family gathering were in order. He never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone. He enjoyed car rides in his later years. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them all.

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Leora and Leland Beavers; daughter, Julie Beavers; brother, Leland “Floyd” (Shirley) Beavers; sisters, Greta Beavers and Leona Shepard.

Those left behind to cherish the memory of Roland are his wife, Wilma Beavers of Backus, MN; sons, Roland (Patricia) Beavers, Jr. of OH, Ken (Shirlee) Beavers of Backus, Kevin (Elizabeth) Beavers of Henning, MN, and Darren (Jackie) Beavers of Bertha, MN; daughter, Carla (Dale) Leehy of Bertha; brothers, Van (Carol) Beavers of Staples, MN, and Guy (Carla) Beavers of Minot, ND; 17 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
