Rosanne Kay Bunker Alvarado, age 65, of NayTahWaush, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Thursday, April 2nd, 2020 from her home. She was born July 2nd, 1954 to Phyllis (Ojibway) and Glenn Bunker in White Earth, MN.
Rose was the 4th child of 8 and was raised in NayTahWaush with her family. As she got older, she went to the Chilocco Indian School and then later to Moorhead and Bemidji for college classes. She was a mother to five children who worked many various jobs while raising them. She worked at the casino as a cashier, hauled beets, she was an EMT and worked at the White Earth Dispatch. Rose enjoyed harvesting, leeching, ricing, making things out of birch bark, going rummaging, canning, baking, playing the slots and going to bingo, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rose had the biggest heart and helped whenever someone asked.
Rose is welcomed to the spirit world by her father, Glenn Bunker; sisters, Kathy Kier, Molly Bunker and Marcie Fairbanks; brothers, Richard “Dickie” and Kelly Bunker; three granddaughters, Danielle, Kelsey and Charlotte Hanks; nieces, Steph and Maria; nephews, Richard, Daniel, Wade and Phill; and the love of her life Jesse Diaz.
Those she leaves behind are her five children, Susie Ballot, Derrick, Darrell, Dayton and Austin Alvarado; her mother, Phyllis Bunker; sister, Theresa (Jim) Loud; brother, Mark Bunker; brother-in-law, Leroy Fairbanks; 18 grandkids, 16 great grandkids, nieces, nephews, other relatives and several friends.
A traditional native service for Rose will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8th at the NayTahWaush Sports Complex in NayTahWaush, MN. Michael Dahl will be her Spiritual Advisor. Pallbearers for Rose will be Derrick Alvarado, Jr., David Roy, Emil Hanks, Glen “Jeb” Bunker, Joe Olson and Kevin Kier. Her honorary pallbearers are Bruce Turner, Sr., Tux Turner, Lauren Lovejoy, Gwenn Oppegard, Sarah Bush Keezer, Paula Littlewolf-Burnette, Ron Habbedank, Sam Habbedank, Laurie Brown and numerous other friends. Interment will be in the Samuel Memorial Episcopal Cemetery at NayTahWaush, MN immediately following her Wednesday services.
