Roxie Lee Suthard, age 85, of Laporte, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, at her home. Roxie was born on September 28th, 1939, in Missouri, the daughter of Patricia (Geren) Schweitzberger and Hurshel Skaggs.
Roxie was a faithful servant of the Lord who loved God’s word. She loved her little dog Izzy who was her constant companion. She worked as a nurse for more than 30 years at many different hospitals before finally retiring from Ah-gwah-ching State Hospital. Roxie had a little country store that she sold art and lawn ornaments out of for several years after retiring. She also enjoyed sewing, puzzles and her church.
The family that Roxie joins again are her parents; Patricia and Hurschel, her husband; Dean Suthard, sons; Ric Batton and Donald Massar, daughter; Terri Rosebrock, brothers; George and Larry Skaggs, sister and brother in-law; Betty and Jim Gault and her nephew Jack Gault.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons; John (Amy) Massar of Laporte, and Ron Massar of Akeley, sister; Becky Lackey of Washington, niece; Cheryl Yonkman of Missouri, grandchildren; Jennifer Hyatt, Patricia (Anthony) Sheffield, Sarah (Ryan Kenney) Rosebrock, Rebecca (Albert) Martinez, Chris Batton, RJ Batton, Danielle (Ryan) Batton Talbot, Tia (Billy) Miles, Lacey (Chris) Yepma, Molly Massar, David Vigil, Kendra (Jon) Bakke and Derrick (Anna) Vigil and 15 great grandchildren.
A memorial service for Roxie will be held at the Laporte Community Bible Church in Laporte, MN on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Matt Sconce will officiate. A private family inurnment will be at Lakeport Cemetery following the service.
