Ryan James Robinson

Ryan James Robinson, 10 years young, “Anakwad” which means “Cloud”, of Walker, Minnesota began his journey to the spirit world on September 21st, 2021, from his home.  He was born on August 24th, 2011, in Bemidji, MN to Erin (Chase) Cash and Terrance Robinson, Jr.

Ryan represented Battle Point as Brave from 2019-2021 and planned on running for Leech Lake Brave next year.  He loved traveling the powwow trail with his mom, auntie Tay, grandma Donna and Branden where he danced, played the drum and helped his elders and anyone else who needed it.  Ryan enjoyed playing on his Xbox, YouTube, public speaking, riding the 4-wheeler but his favorite things to do were teasing and harassing his brothers while trying to get them in trouble and keeping all the school personnel on their toes.  He loved his furry friends Copper, Mila, Oscar, Buddy and Bolt.  Ryan was very much a mama’s boy, who would do anything, including trying to get sent home from school just so he could spend alone time with her.  He left us too soon and he will be deeply missed.

Family that welcomes Ryan to the spirit world are his father; Terrance Robinson, Jr., grandfather; Terrance Robinson, Sr., auntie; Carrie Robinson, uncle; Preston White and his powwow buddy Murphy Thomas.

Those left behind to forever cherish his spirit are his mom and stepfather; Erin and Ryan Cash, brothers; Anthony, Terrance, Jacob and Hayden, sister; Daneja, grandparents; Laurie Chase, David Chase, Sr., Mary Robinson, Donna White, Lucy Halterman and Missy and Marvin Bowstring, aunties; Shawntay (Jarred) Chase, Angie (Jordan) Madigan, Sherry, Carmen and Beth (John) Robinson and Alexis Anderson, uncles; David Jr., Dustin (Claire) and Dylan (Brianna) Chase, special father; Branden Bowstring, many cousins, other relatives and a lot of friends.

An overnight wake for Ryan will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 24th and continue until his 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, September 25th all being held at the Bena Community Center in Bena, MN.  Waa-maajaa’iwed is Steve Jackson.  Pallbearers for Ryan are Matt Bowstring, Dusty Chase, Dylan Chase, David Chase, Jr., David Chase, Sr. and Jarred Pemberton.  His honorary pallbearers are Holly Evans, John Bowstring, Belinda Bowstring, Matt Bowstring, Amber Bowstring, Jake Fuller, Roman Hunt, Tyler Jones, Dave Northbird, Amare Hanson, Dean Blomgren, Avery Bowstring, Mike Allen, Carleigh Losh, Desi Cloud, Aliza Garbow, Neesha Garbow, his other Inger family and friends and his powwow friends and family.  Interment will be in the Battle Point Burial Grounds at Federal Dam, MN following his Saturday service.
