Samantha Marie Gene Larsen

Samantha Marie Gene Larsen passed away on October 1st, 2021, unexpectedly at her home.  She was born to Ricki Michelle Reese and Terry Gene Larsen, Sr. in Park Rapids, MN.  She was born on the same day of her maternal grandfather and namesake’s burial and service.  The whole family was in complete panic mode, yet so excited for her arrival.  She was a blessing during a challenging time, and from that point on she was worshiped and loved like the princess that she was.  She was always adored for her empathy, strength, and support of her family, and most of all the support she provided to her siblings. She was the oldest sibling born to her parents and she played a huge role in being a mother figure to her younger siblings, and sometimes older siblings too!  She always held that motherly quality of looking out for everyone and took on whatever challenge needed for the people she loved and never showed fear.

Samantha was always a ray of sunshine to all that knew her, with her beautiful smile, gorgeous face, and amazing personality to boot.  She loved her family more than anything and would do anything for them.  She raised her son Curtis on her own for the most part, but with the help of her family at a young age.  She was there for her brother’s sons when they needed her, loving and raising them along with her son.  She loved and adored her Grandma Gina so much, and always had a very special relationship with her.  She was so blessed to have the great personality that her grandma passed down to her.  There are many nicknames for her, including Sissy, Sis, Sam, Mom, Auntie, Samantha Bear, Sissy Bear, Sammy Tha Bull.  No matter what you called her, you knew she would always have the back of her loved ones, with all her 120 lbs.  She was an amazing mother, daughter, aunt, sister, cousin, friend, and just such a great person to all that loved her.  She always tried her best to be happy and strong for her loved ones.  She deserved such a longer, better, and less painful life.

Samantha is survived by her son Curtis, nephews; Triston and Monte, niece; Lily, sisters; Kayla, Korina and Tishana, brothers; Nick and Shane, and many other family members and friends that loved her so dearly.

She is proceeded in death by her mother; Ricki Reese, father; Terry Larsen Sr., grandpa; Sam, grandma; Gina, bonus father; Keith Barry, brother; Terry Larsen, Jr., Kandis Kraml, and unfortunately many cousins that she loved dearly, but is rejoined with now.
