Sharon Ann (Roy) Finn, age 79, of the Migizi Clan and lived in Cass Lake, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world from the Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, MN. She was born the daughter of Josephine (Northbird) and Morris Roy on Wednesday, February 15th, 1946, in Buck Lake, MN, at her grandma Ida’s home.
Sharon graduated from Cass Lake high school in 1964 and relocated to California in 1965. Where she worked for social security office.
Upon her return to Cass Lake with her family she worked in various positions for the Leech Lake Reservation for over 40 years.
Her most recent work was for the Leech Lake Homeless Shelter where she was a passionate advocate for those experiencing homelessness.
To know her was to love her. She made the best of what was given. She always persevered and was inspirational to her family and friends.
She will be remembered for her unwavering compassion, fierce advocacy and deep love she had for her family.
She is welcomed to the spirit world by her parents; Josephine and Morris Roy, brothers; Donald and Thomas Roy, and several nieces and nephews.
Family that she leaves behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Donald Finn, Jr. and Christopher Finn, Sr., daughter; Jade Finn, brothers; Richard (Aleta) Roy, Alvin Roy, and Michael Roy, sisters; Leona Kmett, Marcella Sargent, Phyllis Johnson, Ruby Roy, Marilyn White Eagle, and Karen Roy, 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
An overnight wake for Sharon will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2026, and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Saturday, January 3, 2026, all to be held at the White Earth Family Center in Cass Lake, MN. Her Spiritual Advisor will be Zac Earley. Pallbearers for Sharon will be Cedric Morris, Dylan Morris, Ryan Fairbanks, Vincent Roy, Carl Taylor, Jr., and James Martin, Jr. The alternate pallbearers are Andrew Fairbanks and Joel Roy, Sr. Her honorary pallbearers are all her sisters and brothers, Genny Lowry, Barb Johnson, Sharon Brown, Betty Ann Brown, and Pat Singleton. Interment will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Cass Lake, MN on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026.
