Shayna Larae Lee

Shayna Larae Lee, age 35, journeyed to the spirit world unexpectedly on Friday, September 27th, 2024, from IHS in Cass Lake, MN. She was born in Bemidji, MN, on March 11, 1989. Beverly (Clark) and Ronald Lee were her parents.

Shayna loved to spend time with her children more than anything. She enjoyed going to the casino, shopping, berry picking, bough picking, being outside in nature, taking pictures, and scrapbooking. Shayna liked looking nice and matching. She had won several crowns; 2000-2001 Cass Lake Jr. Princess, 2001-2002 Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Jr. Princess, 2002-2003 Cass Lake Bena Sr. Princess, and 2004-2005 she was Miss Cass Lake! Shayna was thoughtful of others, picking out gifts for people if she saw something they may like or need. Shayna will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Greeting Shayna in the spirit world are her parents, Beverly and Ronald Lee; biological mother, Holly Finn; sister, Geraldine Whipple; grandmother, Alverna Finn; and best friend, Kandace Dunn.

Those Shayna leaves behind to forever cherish her memory are her boyfriend, Quincy Klasen; sons, Chandler and Brody Staples; daughters, Paisley and Ameenia Staples, Amiikah Jackson, and Lynicia Klasen; brothers, Randall (Megan), Cody, and Gregory (Alicia) Seelye; step brothers, Ricky, Rory, Donavon, and Guy Haaland; sister, Skippie Finn; mother-in-law; Rose Klasen; numerous nieces and nephews; one great niece; and one great nephew.

A two-night wake for Shayna will begin on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. and continue until her traditional service on Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., all to be held at the Prescott Center in Cass Lake, MN. Vinny Roy will be Shayna’s Spiritual Advisor. Those helping to lay Shayna to rest are Quincy Klasen, Randall Seelye, Greg Seelye, Cody Seelye, Cody Winslow, and Antonio Brown. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Haaland, Rory Haaland, Donavon Haaland, Guy Haaland, and Ileisha Guinn.
