Sidney "Tim Two Braids" Timothy LaRose, Sr.

Sidney “Tim Two Braids” Timothy LaRose, Sr., age 62, of the Crane Clan and Cass Lake, MN journeyed to the spirit world on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from his home. He was born on April 15, 1961, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Delores (Jones) and Franklin William LaRose, Sr.

Tim was a kind, generous, humble, loving, welcoming, accepting, and extremely compassionate person. He had an “open door policy” where all were welcome. He loved listening to pow wow music and harvesting wild rice. Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, bough picking, tree tapping, and living off the land. Tim was an excellent and patient teacher, willing to teach anyone who wanted to learn, helping to keep traditions alive. Tim enjoyed telling stories, being the center of attention, visiting, and big gatherings. Tim liked to eat. He was a playful guy always teasing and joking. He beaded and taught a beading class for the “Fox Creek Housing Kids”, to help keep the kids active and out of trouble. Tim was always willing to lend a hand whenever and wherever he could. Tim will be greatly missed by all who were lucky enough to know and love him.

Those greeting Tim in the spirit world are his parents, Delores Clark & Franklin LaRose, Sr.; grandmother, Julia Jones; sister, Roxanne LaRose; brother, Franklin “Doc” (Cheryl) LaRose, Jr.; niece, Tammy White; nephews, Dan “Fuddly” Wilson, Michael “Big Mike” LaRose, Sr., Guy White; grandchildren, Makhoa Martin, Antoine LaRose, Baby LaRose; numerous other family members and friends.

Those Tim leaves behind to forever cherish his loving memory are sons, Gordon (Shannon) Jones, Sidney Timothy LaRose, Jr., David LaRose, James (Kelly) Martin; daughters, LaRissa, Cheryl (Justin), Paula, and Gerri LaRose, Tanya Martin; mother of his children, Pamela Smith-Jones; brothers, John LaRose, Larry LaRose Holt; sister, Paula LaRose; 24 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; numerous family members and friends.

An overnight wake for Tim will begin on Monday, July 31, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. and continue until his Tuesday, August 1, 2023, 2:00 p.m. service, all to be held at the Facility Center in Cass Lake. Tim’s Spiritual Advisor is Allen Hardy. Those helping to lay Tim to rest are Eddie Williams, Jr., Charles Briski, Christopher Roybal, Joshua Briski, Sr., Joshua Briski, Jr., James LaRose, Dan Jones, and Joe Briski. Alternate will be Justin Bellanger. Honorary pallbearers are all Tim’s family and friends. Interment will be in the LaRose Family Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN.
