Travis Lee Lausche, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2023, in Andover, MN. He was born on July 1, 1984, in Bemidji, MN, the son of Dawn Benjamin.
Travis graduated from CLB High School in 2002. He followed his childhood dream and joined the U.S. Army, he completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He went to AIT at Fort Roberts, Missouri, then was stationed in Anchorage, AK, before he deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Travis enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, sky diving, and flying airplanes. He proudly graduated from Academy College in September 2022 as a certified Pilot and Flight Instructor. His dream was to be a pilot. Travis loved being with his family at the new farm home in Andover, where he was so happy to have chickens, goats, and pigs. He loved to go to their RV at Mille Lacs Lake, MN and go out on the pontoon. Travis flew to Walker Airport with his proud family watching him fly in and land, and his mom was able to sit in the airplane with him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Travis is preceded in death by his grandmother, Carole Benjamin; uncles, David LeDoux, David Fairbanks and Robert Fairbanks; and close friend, Dwayne McFarlane, Jr.
Those Travis leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his mom, Dawn Benjamin; fiancé, Stephanie Dabrowski; sons, Ethan, Brayden, and Maxton; daughter, McKenzee; brother, Nicolas Lausche; sister, Ciarra (Kalvin) Howard; nephews; grandfather, Clifford Benjamin; uncles, Richard (Terri) Benjamin and Clifford Benjamin; aunts, Tracey Benjamin and Elizabeth LeDoux; cousins Alex Benjamin-Norton and Brandon Fairbanks, close friends, David, Derek, Jake, Mark, Delmar, Dustin, and many other friends.
A celebration of life for Travis will be held at Camp Ripley Memorial Chapel in Little Falls, MN on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Military Honors accorded by Fort Ripley at 12:00 p.m. in the Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. A lunch will follow services at the Bullpen Alternative Center in Sobieski, MN. Interment will be in the Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, MN.
