Vicky Lynn Smith

Vicky Lynn Smith, 63 of the Martin Clan and Redby, Minnesota began her journey to the spirit world on Wednesday, July 26th, 2023, from Red Lake IHS. She was born on October 5th, 1959, to Delores Pierre and Herbert Smith in Red Lake, MN.

Vicky grew up in Red Lake and continued her education through the Upward Bound College Prep Courses. She enjoyed a road trip to the Pacific Ocean, and any road trip in general. She enjoyed Pow Wow’s, going to the casino, and cooking for her large family. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her a lot of enjoyment. Vicky also liked to be on face book, surfing for recipes and watching cooking shows on You Tube. Vicky was a homemaker first, raising her family, and then worked at the Red Lake Forestry Department. She will be greatly missed.

The family that Vicky is reunited with are her parents, Herbert Smith, Delores Pierre; and son, James Smith, Sr.

Those Vicky leaves behind to cherish her memories are her sons, Nathan Smith, Leland (Chassity) Smith, Sr.; daughter, Sarah Pritchard; grandchildren, Leland Smith, Jr., Alissa Smith, Amira Smith, Carrie-Ann Heinonen Smith, Gabriella Pritchard, Kairo Pritchard, Leslie Smith, James Smith, Jr., Jaelynn Smith; great-granddaughter, Eliose Smith; sisters; Clarice Cloud, Tracey, Alberta, Patricia and Diane Smith, and father of her children, Peter Benais.

An overnight wake for Vicky will begin Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. and continue until her Thursday, August 3rd, 2023, 11:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN. Father John Christianson will officiate. Those helping to lay her to rest are all Vicky’s nephews. Honorary pallbearers are all Vicky’s family and friends.
