William Wade Lyons, “Migizi” age 33, of the Crane Clan and Rosemount, MN, unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Saturday, August 31st, 2024, from the Hennepin Healthcare Center in Minneapolis, MN. He was born on October 23, 1990, in Minneapolis, the son of Mary Lyons.
Wade was a proud student at Red Lake Nation College. He loved Halloween and celebrating an entire birthday week. Wade was a soft spoken, kindhearted, generous, hardworking young man, who included everyone, making them feel welcome, like they had a friend with him. He was a funny guy who could make everyone laugh. He was always up for an adventure; he brought warmth and happiness wherever he went. Wade took pride in himself, making sure he looked nice, he also liked to represent that he was indigenous. He enjoyed volunteering, working on cars, getting his hands dirty, taking things apart, and riding motorcycle. He rode his motorcycle on numerous MMIWR rides, something he was proud to support and be a part of. Family would like everyone to “STTL” just like Wade’s first tattoo, meaning “Stay True to Life!” Wade will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those Wade leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his mom, Mary Lyons; brothers, Joshua Lyons, Ozzie Snowden, Jedidiah Lyons, Jonathan Lyons, Chauncey Lyons; sisters, Fonda Smith, Fransisca StandStrong, Michelle Bruggeman; uncles, John and Darrell Lyons; nieces, Keely Smith a.k.a. Wade’s Twin, Lily, Ruby, Zyra, Ava, Amaya, Amera; nephews, Mah-Koonce, Aki, Wanu, Wyatt, Tucker, Wabanan; great niece, Manidoo; close family members, P. Bruggeman, Frank Smith, and Taylor Broome.
A two-night wake for Wade will begin at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4th, 2024, and continue until his traditional service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 6th, 2024, all to be held at the Dave Morgan Community Center in Bena, MN. Father William “Bill” Butcher will officiate. Those helping to lay Wade to rest are Aki Smith, Anthony Lyons, Jedidiah Lyons, Mah-Koonce Smith, Justin Bellanger, Jr., Steven Lyons, Dustin Lyons, Josh Lyons, and pallbearer guard, LCPL Mason Schmidt. Honorary pallbearers are Craig Lyons, Chauncey Lyons, Jonathan Lyons, Ozzie Snowden, Wanu Smith, Cody Schmidt, Keely Smith, Jaylen LaRose, and Frank Smith. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Bena, MN, following Wade’s service.
