William "Frenchie" Joseph French

William “Frenchie” Joseph French, age 51, unexpectedly journeyed to the spirit world on Saturday, September 9, 2023. He was born on July 20, 1972, in Cass Lake, MN, the son of Linda (French) and Carl Adams.

William loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren places and being with them. He liked to go to the casino. William enjoyed driving and fixing cars. He was a laid-back man. He liked to play cribbage and card games, visit, joke, tease, and “smoke.”

Those greeting William in the spirit world are his mom, Linda French; grandma, Margaret Davis; the man who helped raise him, Marvin French, Sr.; stepson, Dennis Lang, Jr.; sister, Brenda Adams; grandson, Jackson DeGroat; and granddaughter, Maddison DeGroat.

Those William leaves behind to forever cherish his memory are his biological dad, Carl Adams; significant other, Jeannie Wittner; sons, Michael R. Marcell, Shawn Bryan; daughters, Linda French-Kegg, Ganiva French, Shae (Paul) French, Jaycee (Patrick) Sargent, Evelyn (Tyler) Goodwin, Kristi Sargent; brothers, Bobby Creighton, John Murray, Jeremy Moran, Jerod Moran, Marvin French, Jr., Bob French; sisters, Valerie Lynch, Tina Adams, Ann Adams, Geezis French, Samantha French, Marly French, Sonja Budde, Sylvia Budde; 19 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild on he way.

A two-night wake for William will begin on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. and continue until his Sunday, September 24, 2023, 10:00 a.m. service, all to be held at the White Earth Family Office “The Old Legion” in Cass Lake, MN. William’s Medicine Man is Mike Smith. Urn bearers are William’s grandsons, Michael Artley, Wyatt Artley, Luca Jones, Davian Defoe, and Douglas Artley. Honorary urn bearers are William’s granddaughters, Kyomi Defoe, Dehana Jones, and Zela Defoe. William’s final resting place will be with family.
