I was/am so sad to hear of this news! Chris Yarger was a good friend of mine from my canoe trip days and I always enjoyed being around him. He was such a fun and funny person and the world is a little darker without him in it. I'll never forget you, friend!

I can not say enough about Chris and what a super extraordinary man he was. I was drawn to him and his lively spirit from the moment I met him. Every moment I spent with Chris was truly a joy! He was never at a loss for words and was the master of storytelling. His smile and laugh were incomparable and he would illuminate every room he entered. He was passionate about the great outdoors and all of God's creatures.. He took great pride in the slice of heaven his parents have on Lake Kabekona and looked forward to the summers he spent with them. He created many beautiful works with his hands. I will cherish an oak table he restored for me with the help of his "kids" in Rothsay. There is so much to Love about Chris...his positive nature is and will continue to be a beacon if light for me and I am confident...many others as well. I will carry him in my heart until we meet again. .Jan, Lee, John & girls.,God Bless you , comfort you and give you Peace in knowing he is comfortably resting in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

I met Chris when we both worked at Camp Vermillion one summer (either '90 or '91). My main memory of him was when he led a rousing call and response around the campfire one night. What a personality! Please accept my sincere condolence on your loss.

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Chris. Although I have never met him in person , I feel that I knew him by the stories Jon would tell of their growing up together. It would remind me of growing up with my younger sister. I lost her almost 10 years ago. I have many fond memories. God bless the Yarger family. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Chris' passing. We met him when he worked at Bethel Lutheran Church. Later he bought our home on Little Norway Avenue. He loved to visit and would call to invite himself over for coffee and a chat, which we loved. We pray for his family's comfort during this difficult time.

A phrase from one of the songs we had sung in the choir at Calvary comes to mind..."Ease my mind, Lord, Ease my soul." Just thought I would share a good memory...my first real babysitting job was to look after Chris and Jon. Chris had an infectious personality at an early age. My sympathies to the family.

I am so sorry for Chris’s passing. My deepest sympathies to all his family and friends. I worked with Chris in West Fargo’s foreign language department, and I appreciated him both as a person and a teacher. I enjoyed Chris’s energy, his amiable personality, and his fun way of engaging his students. We had many good talks. It comforts me to know that, thanks to our Savior, Chris’s death is not the end of his story, but the beginning of a new season of life in God’s care.

We had the privilege of living next door to the Yargers in Grand Forks from 1975 until the late 1980's, thus knowing Chris from the age of 7 - oh, the wonderful memories we have and will treasure. Our family is so very saddened by the loss of Chris. We extend our sincerest sympathy, love, and prayers to the Yarger family.

I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your whole family at this difficult time. So often, I have thought of Chris and the memories we made together as youth at Calvary. I know my life would not have been the same without the love, care and fun we shared at such a crucial time in our lives. He will forever be the 16, 17 year old adventurous spirit that loved his family, the outdoors, and having fun.

My parents shared with me today this sad news. Instantly my mind rushed with Calvary church memories of my time with Chris in high school. His infectious laugh and ability to know all the ins and outs of the church. Singing with him in choir and going on so many trips. His friendship was very precious to me and my sister Ronna. What a sad loss for your family. So sorry. Grace to you. God bless.
