Glen Eldon “Ten Ring” Walliser, age 83, of Walker, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was born in Hartford, Kansas on July 26, 1934 the son of Lester and Edna (Schenburger) Walliser.

Glen’s life revolved around hunting and fishing.  He had a passion for black powder muzzle loading, building custom black powder rifles and pistols.  Glen attended rendezvous for shooting events and traders’ row, where he would swap stories.  He enjoyed living the life of the fur trade era.  He always said that he was born 200 years to late!  Shooting was his life and he was known as “10 Ring” because of his shooting skill and “always keeping them in the 10 ring.”  Before moving from Idaho to Minnesota, he owned a gun shop and custom built black powder muzzle loading long rifles and pistols. 

Glen married his second wife Linda in 1966 and they had three daughters; Cretia de León (Daniel), Johanna Larsen (Victor) and Phaedra Hanson (William).  They eventually divorced after 35 years of marriage, but remained close friends.  Glen also had four children from a previous marriage; Leslie (Peggy), Wesley, Kathy and Michael. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Michael, one grandson and several aunts and uncles.

Glen is survived by his close friend; Linda, sister Barbara, six children, 20 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.

A celebration of Glen’s life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker.
